Apostolate in the society

An advisor to Vida Ascendente Spain offers its members actions to do in the society

"Do  good and do not look to whom" may have said some wise men of humanity. " Love each other, as I have loved you," Jesus Christ said.

Faced with these two excellent tips, the member of Vida Ascendente can start working, thus conforming to the third pillar of our movement, APOSTOLATE.

We have always been told that there are three ways of acting in Christianity: by praying, by  setting a good example and by preaching the gospel. When we choose the third way, we have two broad areas that open up  to us: civil society and the Christian community. The circumstances and personal qualities of each will tell us where to stop and how  to help. Jesus lamented that "the harvest  is  abundant, but the workers are few."  Each of us will bring his own stone that will remedy this problem. Sometimes we will do acts of charity;  at other times, we will bear witness to our Christian faith.

How is society asking us for help today?

It needs thousands of volunteers to help the sick, the disabled, children in difficulty, the hungry; to visit people living alone at home, in residence or at the hospital; to help drug addicts who are in rehab ... and to render many other services. The Red Cross and other NGOs can help us search. There are other easier jobs, such as serving food in health centres or making lists of people to rescue on a computer, etc.

How can we, members of Vida Ascendente, respond to offer our availability, share our experience and witness to our faith?
