Repeat to be heard

Bis repetita placent*

Repeat to be heard... repeat because, the first time, the message did not have the expected echo, repeat so that the spirits understand the need for a mobilization... In short, I like to repeat these things that have already been said and that seem to me, at this moment, so important for our movement! Here they are:

  • On May 3rd, the Holy Father published a message - our newsletter reproduces it - for the second World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly, which will take place on July 24, on the theme "they still bear fruit in old age" (Ps 92:15): celebrate this day, either on this date or at another time, celebrate it to show this irreplaceable role that the elders hold in the Church and in society. Celebrate it and SEND US YOUR INITIATIVES; it is important for the Executive Committee to know them, to testify, when given the opportunity, to the "richness of many years" and, consequently, to the vitality of LAI.
  • In his catechesis of March 23, the Holy Father invites our institution to set up, within the framework of the catechetical journey, meetings between young and old so that the latter may tell the former how faith has nourished their lives, despite the ups and downs inherent in any journey of faith, despite failures and trials. IT'S UP TO YOU TO PLAY, IT'S UP TO YOU TO BE THE PROMOTERS OF THIS IDEA: it's up to you to challenge the leaders of catechesis in your country to evoke this papal proposal and see how it could be implemented, it's up to you to meet the parish priest to initiate meetings at the different levels of the catechetical journey.
