A call relayed by the South American LAI coordinator to celebrate the day of july 25

Dear friends of Life Ascending

Tomorrow it is with great joy that we will celebrate the "First Mondial Day of the Grands-Parents and the Elderly", on the theme "I am with you every day".

This Day was instituted by Pope Francis, so that it would be very close to the celebration of the feast of Saints Joachim and Anna, grandparents of Jesus, which for many years the members of Vida Ascendente adopted.

I believe that, despite the restrictions related to the pandemic, we must not stop celebrating it, because it is a very important day for us as grandparents and for all seniors. The Holy Father encourages us and wants us to express with this commandment of the Gospel of St. Matthew, the closeness of the Lord and the Church in the life of every elderly person.

Pope Francis has instituted this World Day, to be celebrated every year, on the fourth Sunday of July, to value those of us who have been the first to guide the faith in homes and in society. It is a call to continue our evangelizing mission, because, despite age, we have the duty to transmit the Gospel, bringing the Good News to all sectors of society, especially to our young people and children. The Holy Father recognizes that our vocation is also to watch over our roots and to transmit them.

As always, I address all my friendships and wish you a very good day!
