END OF YEAR MEETING 2023 IN MAURITIUS
We want to share with you the joy we felt at the last meeting of the movement. In general, it is quite stereotypical but we wanted to innovate by putting into practice the intergenerational relationships recommended by Pope Francis. Every year some parishes do it at the end of July for the feast of St Joachim and Ste Anne but we did it on the move with the help of some young people who had participated in WYD.
First of all, we invited our members to come with their children and grandchildren, for those who had them near them. We asked a member and a grandchild to do the readings. At the beginning of the ADAP, the participants came to light a candle or a candle and they entrusted it to their children who in turn gave them to the new generation, telling them to keep the lamp of their baptism lit. At the same time, we sang a beautiful song in Creole, the children came to place their candles in front of the altar. It was a very moving transmission.
After the ceremony, instead of the traditional talk, we had a small flea market of crockery, curtains, costume jewelry and linen at a very low price. After lunch, we had an entertainment with the young people who made people sing, move and dance for seniors and children in a very friendly atmosphere.
Everyone was satisfied with the day and we thank God for it.
