Prayer to the Crucified One of Bojayá
O Black Christ of Bojayá
which reminds us of your passion and death;
with your arms and feet
Your children have been taken from you
who sought refuge in you.
O Black Christ of Bojayá
who looks at us with tenderness
and in your face there is serenity;
Your heart beats too
to welcome us into your love.
O Black Christ of Bojayá
Get Us Involved
to restore your body.
May we be your feet to meet
the brother in need;
Your arms to kiss
the one who has lost his dignity;
Your hands to bless and comfort
the one who weeps in solitude.
Grant us to be witnesses
of your love and infinite mercy.
This makes perfect sense because the broken Christ of Bojayá survived a guerrilla attack. It is a cry for peace for Colombia and for the world.
