From Colombia, after the international meeting in Madrid last September
We recently celebrated the birthday of our Counsellor and, during this meeting, our envoys to the International Meeting of Rising Life in Madrid shared with us their impressions of the event: a great work of convening, organizing, electing, making special arrangements on the central theme of To Reborn and the contributions of all the participating countries.
We are grateful for the work dedicated to promoting activities at the level of the International Executive Committee and in each country where the Movement is active; we are also grateful for the news we have received with the 50th Bulletin.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, our Advisor and our other collaborators, please thank those who participated in the previous committee as well as our congratulations to the new members of the committee led by Mrs. Monique Ptak. We look forward to the best management omens for our continent because of the ease of understanding with the new leaders of the Committee who are fluent in several languages and because of their remarkable experience.
We offer our cooperation in every way possible from Colombia. Since the election of the current Board of Directors and by mandate of our Assembly held in October 2022, we have decided to develop a project to present to international cooperation to support us in a pastoral care of the elderly with actions beyond our borders in a synodal spirit in order to walk together and generate conversions and intergenerational relationships. This is a project that we have submitted to the International Executive Committee with the request to adopt it as a pilot experiment and to jointly seek its funding. This project is the result of the work of the Board of Directors and our Animation and Projects team and is nourished by the experience of working within our groups in Colombia for more than 20 years.
We are sure that with the support of our Bishops and the support of the International Executive Committee, we will be able to promote a pastoral care in which the elderly will be lay protagonists in Colombia and on the Continent of Hope. Our newly elected Continental Coordinator for Latin America, Mr. Orlando Cáceres, is aware of this project and for several months he has been organizing the integration of our national presidents to study it and so that eventually, a similar experience can be developed in each country.
Fraternal and attentive greetings,
The Board of Directors and the Advisor
