Thanks from Monsignor Duffé
Monsignor Bruno-Marie Duffé, director of the Dicastery for Integral Human Development, warmly thanks us for sending him the bulletin 80, the quality of the work done and invites us to continue the reflection.
His reference to the holy father's speech at the Charlemagne Prize in May 2016 shows that the notion of "memory transfusion" is indeed a constant concern for the pope. Bishop B-M Duffé said in his thank-you letter to VMI:
"The ˮ transfusion of memory necessarily passes through our elders who have lived joys and tragedies throughout history, matured them and meditated on them in their hearts, thus acquiring the wisdom and vision necessary to build a society with high humanist values.
Their place in society is essential. It cannot be reduced to management, let alone marginalization. But the transfusion has to be done. It is a question of forging the relationship, of opening up to the transmission by listening to and welcoming the wealth they carry so that we are capable of ever more humanity. Here is the challenge to build a society that responds to a human fullness and to which the Church strives to contribute.
In reiterating my gratitude for sending this book and thanking you for the mission of International Rising Life to our elders, I ask you to receive, dear Madam, the expression of my respectful feelings and of my prayer to Christ of compassion and tenderness. »
