On November 19, our President, Marta has inaugurated the 9Th International Meeting of LAI which takes place in Santo Domingo, Casa Arquidiócesana María de la Altagracia.
She welcomed all the participants from the 5 continents and thanked the Dominican team who worked to prepare this event and especially sister Nayda as well as the Superior Mother of the Congregation "Las Hijas de la Altagracia". She greeted Mr. Vittorio Scelzo, head of the office for the elderly and children at the dicastery for the Laymen, Family and Life.
Each participant presented himself and the morning ended with the celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Mgr Maupu, ecclesiastical adviser of LAI surrounded by all the members of the clergy present and animated by the nuns of the congregation whose beautiful songs resounded in the Chapel of St. John.
The afternoon was devoted to the reflections of the national movements related to the theme of the meeting, "The Elders actors of evangelization in a multigenerational and multicultural society."
Professor Mario Minaya was invited to carry out an analysis of these texts. With a very lively presentation, he gave us an account of these reflections.

The day ended with the presentation of the European continent by the Coordinator, Monika, who had chosen to speak of the 3rd JMR of the MCR in Lourdes.
