Pope Francis at WYD in Panama
From the arrival of the sovereign Pontiff in Panama on January 23rd to the mass in honour of the volunteers on January 27th, there were some beautiful moments during the 34th World Youth Day. Among the topics chosen by the Holy Father as red threads of WYD 2019, we will cite the extraordinary hope capital of Latin American youth in a context of very strong political instability. Another landmark of the apostolic event is the Marian Breath that has brought 600,000 young people to communion in Panama and around the world.
His vibrant appeal to young people
Because, dear young people, you are not the future but the now of God. He calls you and calls you in your communities and cities to search for your grandparents, your elders; to stand up and speak with them and fulfil the dream that the Lord has dreamed for you.
Dear brothers, The Lord and his mission are not an "in the meantime" in our life, a passing thing. They're our lives! All these days, the so-so of Mary was whispered in a special way as a background music. Not only did she believe in God and her promises as a possible thing, she believed in God and dared to say "yes" to participate in this hour of the Lord? She felt she had a mission, she fell in love and that decided everything. As happened in the synagogue of Nazareth, the Lord, in the midst of us, his friends and acquaintances, rises again to take the book and say to us: "Today is fulfilled the passage of the scripture that you have just heard" (Lk 4, 21).
Do you want to live the realization of his love? May your "yes" continues to be the gateway, for the Holy Spirit to offer a new Pentecost to the world and to the Church.
