to the new Spiritual Advisor of Adem-Tocht (Dutch-speaking Belgium)

In its latest issue of "Sérénité», Life Ascending French-speaking Belgium is pleased to report the appointment of Annemie Deckers as Spiritual Advisor to Adem-Tocht Vlaanderen to replace Jan Vanden Berghe.

Thank you to Jan for the work accomplished during these years and welcome to his substitute.

Annemie Deckers is a laywoman who is committed, both politically (former member of the Provincial Council of Limburg), and religiously (president of the Dominican Lay Community of Flanders), aged just 65 and retired for 5 years from teaching.

In her presentation in Adem-Tocht's quarterly, she tells us:

"From the Dominicans, I also learned, like St Dominic,not to cling obstinately to tradition but to remain open to the signs of the time and to give it a response of faith in the light of the gospel...   and to close by quoting Ps 37(36).5: " Commit your destiny to Yahweh, be confident in him, and he will act."

May the Spirit send, via Annemie, a new breath (translation of the word "Adem") on our Belgian Dutch-speaking friends.
