Christmas 2021 in France!
Our country is preparing to experience the birth of the Savior, in a climate of uncertainty, due to the ever-present threat of the virus.
The inhabitants of our country need to meet each other, to re-live in a slightly more dynamic way.
In the Church of France, the publication of the Sauvé report on sexual crime against children in the Church of our country, has disturbed and shocked Christians, some media salute the courage that the Church has had in this truth operation...
Everything remains to be done so that the Church changes and progresses in particular towards a more synodal governance, as Pope Francis invites us to do, with all the Churches of the world!
The MCR teams have also set to work, in and with the various dioceses.
About our “Mouvement Chrétien des Retraités” (MCR), everything is slowly restarting ... but teams are still reluctant to get together. Our membership has fallen further, even though we are still the largest Catholic action movement in our country.
In January 2021, we will participate, some of us, in a visit of the movements of French Catholic Action, about forty people in all: visit to the dicasteries, private audience with the Pope. We will carry you all in our hearts.
It is in this context that we are preparing to live Christmas ... well aware that Christ, born two thousand years ago, accompanies us at every moment.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2022!
Father Dominique Oudot
National Chaplain of the French “Mouvement Chrétien des Retraités”.
