Hello

Here is the report of the second day of our international meeting of LAI.

Early this morning, the Mass celebrated in the Saint John Chapel was presided by the spiritual advisor of Belgium, Father José Vande Putte, surrounded by advisors from other countries.

Dr. Vittorio Scelzo of the dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life*, informed of the holding of our meeting, had agreed to come to Santo Domingo and intervene. He introduced us to his institution, recalling that she was just two years old.

The first thing he wanted to do was listen to what is happening in the countries. That's why he's here today.

Dr. Scelzo's intervention was followed by a very interesting presentation by our Ecclesiastical advisor, Msgr. François Maupu, entitled "Growing Up in faith".

The afternoon saw the representatives of two countries who were observers, Poland and Uganda. They introduced us the pastoral realities of their respective countries and the commitments of senior citizens and elderly people.

Sister Nayna then made us discover two aspects of her country with a colorful image known to tourists from all over the world and another darker image of life in Santo Domingo.

A surprise was reserved for us at the end of the evening with a group of young people dancing at the accents of the country.

The representatives of Asia (Taiwan) presented the realities of their movement before closing this second day by The Evening Prayer.

Here a reaction to our first day report:

“Dear VMI,

Thank you for the report of the first day; no-one seems to be suffering from jet-lag!

Best wishes from UK that the rest of the week will be as fruitful and blessed by the Holy Spirit.

Although it is a bit premature, I would like to wish all the delegates a happy and holy Christmas.

Yours in Christ,

Ross Roberts, President Life Ascending UK”
