The 2019 feast of Retired Persons with Vie Montante Belgium
On Thursday October 24, 2019, our National Feast of Retired Persons, organized by Vie Montante, was celebrated in the cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula.
We had the great joy of welcoming, for 2 days, Mgr. François Maupu, who came from Orleans to participate in the feast and preside over the celebration of the Eucharist. Mgr. Maupu, bishop emeritus of Verdun, since 2013, has since been “ecclesiastical advisor” of Life Ascending International.
We had the joy of sharing these festive moments with Erik Bruneel and Jan Vanden Berghe, respectively president and chaplain of Ademtocht, the sister movement of Vie Montante, for the Dutch-speaking part of the country.
Jan, on the left in the photo, Gaspard Daemen, Spiritual Advisor for Liège and José Vande Putte, National Spiritual Advisor for Vie Montante on the right, joined Mgr. Maupu to celebrate.
The celebration, animated, first during the prologue, then throughout the Eucharist, by Sabine Van Den Abbeele, was a moment of intense spirituality. The songs chosen were, for some, from the pen of Sabine, words and music; all were at once simple - the music speaking to the heart through the ears - and great through their inspired content, their melody permeated our minds.
The "glass of friendship" that closed the celebration allowed Mgr. Maupu and the many participants, members or not, to meet with ease.
Thank you to everyone who made this afternoon a success and a moment of joy.
