The time of the guard tour
With St Mark we open a new liturgical year. Mark, the evangelist of the universal, is the one who puts in the mouth of the stranger the recognition of Jesus and expresses the act of faith of the pagans. With him, openness to the world reveals the freedom of the Gospel.
What an adventure to open up for us who have experienced this year a containment full of constraints, worries, suffering and death! Are we ready to stay up to initiate a future, projects and write the new act of a new land?
At the heart of the pandemic, we could say that nothing would be the same again. But do we measure that the Christian adventure is in itself a permanent deconfinement that gives meaning to our doubts, which welcomes all questions and especially those of the meaning of life to inhabit our faith and make it radiate?
Yes, we believe but increase, Lord, in us faith! Watching becomes a dynamic attitude since the master has left and given all power to his servants. The incarnation is not an empty word, it is not an event of the past, it is the irruption of God into our world so that men may take the path of peace, mercy, sharing and welcoming the stranger. Watching is quite a program and we don't have too many of these four weeks to be part of the work of incarnation! Christmas is at this price!
