A new president in Portugal:

Matilde LINO NETO de PADUA

Here are some elements of her biography:

Matilda did graduate studies in the field of finance; her professional experiences took her to London, Brazil, in the office of the Portuguese Minister of Finance;  in the end, she ran a real estate firm.

She comes from a very committed Catholic family in the name of her convictions.:

• her maternal grandfather led in Parliament the Catholic Party defending the Church during the republican persecutions; he was decorated with the Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Gregory by Benedict XV.
• her father, a doctor, put himself at the service of the poor and created with his wife many lay organizations in the parish; he also campaigned for the defense of the Catholic religion during republican persecutions.
• personally, she was a catechist; to carry out this mission, she took theology courses at the Lisbon Patriarchate and preparation courses with the Salesian Priests.
