Message from the Spiritual Advisor of Argentina
to its members for Easter 2022
Christ is risen, it is our joy, it is the truth that we proclaim by already living as resurrected. Hallelujah!
Emerging from the confinement we have experienced for nearly two years; we resume our face-to-face meetings everywhere but taking precautions. Our groups have naturally suffered heavy losses and have also become unaccustomed to weekly or monthly meetings. But this is a thing of the past and now we have to start meeting again as much as possible.
The good news of this year is that the Secretariat for the Family has renewed all the authorities, and that the Department of the Elderly will be coordinated by a married couple (already grandparents) and by a diocesan bishop. They have already connected by Zoom in with all the members of this Secretariat and have started working.
Our Vida Ascendente movement has always been attentive to the action of this instance dealing with the Elderly and counts now also members from our groups. I have been asked to collaborate on the "spirituality of the elderly", which I will gladly do.
It is an opportunity to help ensure that the long-awaited Pastoral Care of the Elderly can finally begin to function, to extend to all dioceses and the entire ecclesial community of the country, and so that we can make our contribution as elders, grandfathers and grandmothers.
Of course we continue to receive the blessing of "Pope Francis' Catechesis for the Elderly". Starting from the Word of God, he explains to us the place and value of our witness in the family, in the Church herself and in society.
Easter has brought us together and encouraged us, the Lord is risen and lives among us. May we feel it at every meeting, in our groups and knowing also that we are integrated into the Pastoral Care of the Church, we walk together (in the synodal way).
May God always bless us and may Our Lady take care of us.
Father Osvaldo
