I remind you of the date of1 October, proclaimed by the United Nations, international day of older persons: at the international meeting in Santo Domingo, LAI decided to join the event; now think about it.

In his text on Pentecost, Mgr. Maupu evokes the diversity of LAI: various sensitivities, different cultures. Diversity also of the rhythms of life: here in France, as in a number of countries of the northern hemisphere, the summer is announcing a time of rupture in the professional activity; the newsletter does not escape at this rate and will be come back in September.

On the eve of this break, I would like to thank all the editors, and in particular those who, from England, Belgium, Canada, Spain, France, Mauritius, Uganda, have expressed their initiatives.

And you who live in Portugal, Peru, Benin, Taiwan, or elsewhere, -I cannot cite all the Member countries of LAI-you certainly have an initiative or an action to publicize, we expect. You can send your items during this break period.
